Vivid

By Erika Anne C. Dela Cruz

It was a cold rainy night and I was standing in front of his house, staring at his window, and hoping to catch a glimpse of him. Then I stood by the gate and took a deep breath in and pressed the door bell and waited for a few seconds. No one opened the gate.

"Hello, Is anybody home?" I said.
No one answered. My heart sank and everything was falling apart.

As the clock ticked down, I still waited at his gate and wished for him to come and yet he was still not there. I felt my tears trying to well up in my eyes. I decided to leave and walked in the middle of the road.

I stared at the bright light coming from the road, the bright light comes toward me, closer and closer. Until I got beeped by a car. I glared in the car’s window and nodded my head and continued walking on the side of the street. The man inside the car looked at me, I felt something in my heart, his face looked vaguely familiar to me, but then he drove his car. I watched the car until it left, and surprisingly the car pulled out on the side of the street, the man get off inside his car.

"Erika!" he said. He shouted my name and run over me.

My heart was going to explode. Yes, it was him. The man whom I’ve waited for, the man whom I love so much.

I dropped my umbrella and run towards him. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back to him. He hugged me so tight and twirled me around.

“Why are you here?” he asked.
I smiled sweetly at him.
“I am here to say that… I still love you. ” I said.

He hold my face, looked into my eyes and whispered “I love you too.” and hugged me again. As his face was so close to me, I kept my eyes close. And he kissed me gently. Everything else faded away. We didn’t care about the rain, the people and cars passing by. Everything was perfect.

Then suddenly I heard an alarm clock ringing and a familiar voice saying “Wake up! Wake up Erika!”
I opened my eyes and it was my mom. It was six o’clock in the morning. And I realized I was just dreaming. Yes, everything was just a dream.

Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I’ll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don’t leave me here alone
But all that’s dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Don’t you dare look out your window darling
Everything’s on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music’s gone
Gone

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Ooh, ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
Ooh, ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Just close your eyes
You’ll be alright
Come morning light,
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Oohhh.

This is the story of a girl
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world
And while she looks so sad in photographs
I absolutely love her
When she smiles.. (Taken with Instagram)
